Dr. Eng. Vlad V. Moca

Experienced scientist, engineer, and entrepreneur

Dr. Vlad V. Moca is an experienced brain scientist but also an engineer and entrepreneur. He is a co-founder of Neurodynamics (https://neurodynamics.ro) and Intelimensa startups. He also co-founded and is the vice-president of the Transylvanian Institute of Neuroscience (TINS - https://tins.ro), a private non-profit research institute in Transylvania, and is a member of the organizing team of the Transylvanian Experimental Neuroscience Summer School (TENSS - https://tenss.ro). With a background in electronics and signal processing and a Ph.D. from the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, he conducted part of his doctoral work at the Max Planck Institute for Brain Research in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. His research focuses on EEG, brain-computer interfaces, and cortical oscillations, where he has contributed to development of novel methods like superlets and the oscillation score. He has led several research projects and published over 40 scientific papers.
