Brain scientist and entrepreneur

Raul is an accomplished brain scientist with more than 20 years of experience. He is both a scientist and entrepreneur, contributing to the foundation of a number of private research institutes, such as the Romanian Institute of Science and Technology and the Transylvanian Institute of Neuroscience (https://tins.ro), where he serves as president. He is a founder and owner of multiple startups, such as Neurodyamics (https://neurodynamics.ro) and Intelimensa. He is also a co-founder and organizer of the Transylvanian Experimental Neuroscience Summer School (https://tenss.ro), one of the most prestigious training courses in the field worldwide. He has published many high-impact scientific papers in top-leading world journals, such as Nature Communications, Brain, eLife, Cerebral Cortex, and so on. He actively collaborates with industrial partners, such as Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany and is a strong advocate for the advancement of research that leads to radically new, disruptive technologies.
